Research & Training
A number of universities have undertaken collaborative research work involving resource efficiency aspects of construction management and materials.
The main research areas identified were:
- Construction waste minimisation.
- Use of wastes as/in construction materials.
- Life-cycle assessment.
- Management of contaminated materials.
The research work generally involved collaborations with a number of organisations including research organisations, Government departments and private construction/waste management contractors.
In addition to research, some universities are involved on a more practical level in the fields of waste management and construction. Some notable examples are highlighted in this section.
In addition to this, a number of other organisations that have conducted research on the relevant subjects, can also be found in this section. These are often undertaken by a number of research organisations and other trade-specific research bodies.
