The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)

ICE is a registered charity with the remit of promoting and progressing civil engineering. It currently has over 77,000 active members both in the UK and overseas. The Waste Management Board within ICE focuses on 2 key issues:

  • The planning, financing, construction and operation of the next generation of the UK's waste management infrastructure;
  • Improving the efficiency of the use of resources in the construction industry.

The Waste Management & Resources Board comprises members from throughout the environmental, waste management and engineering sectors and works with a number of industry sectors to address these issues and publishes regular reports offering guidance on varying topics such as waste and resource management

In addition, ICE's publishing arm, Thomas Telford, produces publications and training courses relating to construction waste and resource efficiency.
