CIOB works with building professionals, from around the world, providing information and guidance on the management of the building process.
The resources available from the CIOB website include links to related sites, publications on a range of subjects and two e-newsletters, Construct Focus and FAS Focus. The website also offers the services of Construction Books Direct, the CIOB bookshop which categorises books into relevant areas, for example, construction. The information provided is furthered with the addition of Construction Manager Magazine, the official magazine of the CIOB, which itself has a related website and the CIQ Journal. The Construction Information Quarterly Journal is a CIOB publication with the latest construction research information.
The CIOB also has a role in the development and improvement of educational standards. As an awarding body, the CIOB has designed courses as well as accrediting qualifications within universities and colleges.
Membership to the CIOB is open to a number of disciplines within the building & construction supply chains. Annual fees are dependant on the level of membership and location i.e. overseas, Republic for Ireland and the UK. UK fees range from Free for students to £246 for Fellow membership.
