Construction and demolition is the single largest UK waste stream, and includes over 20% of all hazardous waste and 20% of fly-tipped waste. The construction industry pays an estimated annual cost of £200 million in landfill tax
With taxes set to rise and additional legislative requirements in place, the issue of waste is likely to become increasingly important to all those in the construction sector.
From 1 April WRAP will be the single point of contact for construction businesses looking for support and guidance to improve their resource efficiency.
